DIY Denim Dog Toys (Guest Collaboration + Blast from the Past)

This post is a collaboration with our partner blog, Dalmatian DIY.  One of our January to-dos (part of the blog plan) is revisiting and refreshing/updating some of our old archived popular posts. It has been years since we first shared our DIY denim knot toy here on the blog and the dogs now have their own blog, but it still remains one of the most popular posts.  In collaboration with Dalmatian DIY, we've revisited our denim knot as well as created two alternative toys - a larger tug-style toy for playful pooches and some denim grenades for the puppy puzzle solvers out there.

We've updated the diagram and wording in our original simple no-sew DIY denim knot toy post, and your can visit Dalmatian DIY for all of the new photos and fresh instructions to make three types of simple no-sew DIY denim toys.  All you need are some recycle-ready jeans, a pair of scissors, and a few minutes to make some quick and fun toys.

It's worthwhile noting here that I rarely use denim for any no-sew pet projects these days, preferring to work with other materials instead (see Dalmatian DIY for more DIY toy ideas).  Tough denim holds up pretty well (depending on the denim and the vigor of play), but not nearly as well as some other materials in our experience. I'm more comfortable playing with some other less thready and more robust options. No matter what your personal choice of toy(s) may be, always remember to choose based upon your particular pet, supervise carefully, and ensure safe play.  You can read more about dog toy safety and safer playtime here.

We have a number of other blast-from-the-past post updates to share with you over the coming weeks  as part of the refresh as well as some fab freebies and fresh new DIY tutorials.  After moving and renos (not yet finished...sigh...) we are finally into our craft supplies and keen to share some new craft ideas from as our own creative kick-startTasty Tuesday has been retired as we focus more on crafting, but the ever popular Six for Saturday will remain for extra DIY inspiration.  Stay tuned for more creative fun coming soon!
